Transformative Spaces: Building a Culture of Collective Care and Allyship

Transformative Spaces: Building a Culture of Collective Care and Allyship delves into the complexities and nuances of workplace dynamics, challenging participants to become proactive agents of change. From understanding the historical roots of systemic inequities to mastering the art of active allyship and harm intervention, the workshops will help you build the skills and the tools to navigate and reshape a more inclusive, equitable, and accountable workplace. We go beyond performative actions and checklist approaches, emphasizing impact-driven strategies and fostering a culture of collective care and continuous learning.

This was a series done for the Office of the Provost in 2023/24.

Work in Progress: Archiving the Self

Archives are acts of resistance — especially for those whose stories are often left out of the official record.

This reflective workshop reframes everyday labor as archive-worthy. From late-night emails to quiet systems of care, the work we do creates a record of our experiences, values, and impact.

Through writing, guided prompts, and inspiration from artists like Octavia Butler and Sister Corita Kent, participants reflect on how their work has shaped them and write a letter to their present selves.

Designed for zine-lovers, journal-keepers, and anyone interested in reflecting on what they carry, create, and contribute, this workshop invites participants to recognize and name the legacy already taking shape in their everyday lives.

Office for Research Workshop Series Summer ‘26: Beyond Good Intentions

Every team talks about community — but what does it actually look like in practice, especially when communication breaks down, expectations go unspoken, or tensions quietly build?

This three-part workshop series gives practical tools for strengthening working relationships across roles, teams, and departments. Each session builds on the last, moving from understanding how support shows up differently across individuals, to communicating with greater clarity and intention, to navigating the inevitable moments when things don't go as planned.

The series is grounded in real workplace dynamics — not abstract ideals — and designed for immediate application. Participants will leave each session with concrete strategies they can use right away to build stronger connections, reduce friction, and contribute to a culture where people feel seen, heard, and supported.
