Amnesty Through Responsible Action

What You Should Know About Amnesty at Northwestern

In situations involving the use of alcohol or drugs, the Amnesty Through Responsible Action Protocol supports getting help for yourself or others.

Deciding whether to call for help is not always easy. If you are unsure of what to do next, we encourage you to err on the side of caution and call for help.

In the spirit of creating a community of care at Northwestern, when students and student groups take the following steps in response to substance emergency situations like overdoses from alcohol, cannabis or other drugs (ACOD), Northwestern honors and rewards that care by using education and supportive resources outside of the University's disciplinary processes.
