Learn more about the university’s obligations under the American’s with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. This presentation will provide an overview of the ADA, processes for receiving and/or implementing accommodations in the classroom and workplace settings, and more. This session will be co-presented with the Office of Equity’s ADA Coordinator.
This presentation provides an overview of our office’s mission, services, registration process, and accommodation management from both the instructor and student lens.
A review of adaptive equipment and assistive technology tools (e.g. Smart Pen, Sonocent, Glean, Dragon, Sensus Access, Read & Write Gold, Snap & Read, Captioning, and CART) commonly used by individuals with disabilities in an academic setting.
This session will include an ANU introduction for prospective or newly enrolled students. A staff member can set up a resource information station at your event to hand out information packets and answer ANU service-related questions.
An introduction to the principles of Universal Design for Learning including multiple means of representation, expression, and engagement and how these can be implemented in lectures, discussions, class materials, exams, assignments, and resources among others. This also discusses how UDL moves beyond accessibility to improve class offerings for all students.
