"As I transitioned into my 3rd year in college, I decided to take on more leadership and work responsibilities. I figured that I'd made it through my first two years and was well equipped to take on more alongside my academics. Very quickly, I found myself navigating 2 student group executive boards, 3 jobs, a volunteer role, and a full course load. It did not take long for the balls to start dropping, and other people were starting to notice.

My resident director and supervisor gave me some tough feedback about my underperformance, which was hard to hear but which I was immensely grateful for. She shared the feedback by centering a sense of care for me, and acknowledged that I couldn't, and more importantly did not need to, do it all. I am really grateful for that conversation and continue to return to that message still today."
