Tactical Steps to Spinning a Company out of the University (Chicago)

If you are considering launching a start-up built around technology licensed from an academic institution, INVO invites you to get the answers to these questions and others at a free lunch seminar at which Ed Pease, a Partner at Mintz Levin in Boston, will share strategies for forming and financing a company built around technology licensed from a university.
Ed has counseled hundreds of starts ups from MIT, Harvard, Northwestern, Stanford, Purdue, University of Arizona and others and will share insights garnered from his more than two decades of working with early stage ventures. This interactive session will cover the basic steps of licensing technology, forming a company and preparing a company to raise capital. You can read more about Ed here.

Start-Ups Interested in Licensing Northwestern Technologies (Chicago)

If you or your team is considering a start-up based on Northwestern technologies, join INVO for a discussion on the lifecycle and nuts and bolts of licensing intellectual property from the University. Mike Moore, Director of Licensing, and Arjan Quist, Director of Engineering & Physical Sciences, at INVO will discuss the differences between options and licenses, the different types of licenses, and definition and purpose of various license terms. They will also touch on the mission of INVO and what motivates our office to license university technologies. This seminar will be interactive and allow for plenty of Q&A.
This seminar is open to faculty, postdoctoral trainees, and students.
