Funding Available for Student Sustainability Projects

The Northwestern Sustainability Fund (NSF) is a $50,000 pool established to support student-driven sustainability projects. The fund empowers students to take on sustainability challenges and reduce the environmental impacts of Northwestern’s campus operations and student activities.

The fund is currently accepting applications for the winter quarter, and the deadline to apply has been extended through January 24, 2017. To be eligible for funding, all projects should be led and implemented by students. Faculty and staff members can serve in advisory roles.

Projects that have received funding in the past have involved everything from educational programming aimed at reducing bottled water purchases to the construction of a “solar tree” that would use solar panels to power charging stations in an outdoor seating area.
