Mandated Reporter Training
Per Illinois regulation, all persons required to report child abuse or child neglect are required to complete mandated reporter training every 3 years. This regulation can be found here.
All Northwestern employees are considered mandated reporters and must complete mandated reporter training every three years.
Additionally, one essential element of complying with the University's Policy, Minors at Northwestern, is the requirement that all members of the Northwestern community who participate in programs or activities that involve minors are expected to complete the following training. Protect Children (EDU-IL)
The Protect Children on Campus training is designed to help mandated reporters or those who will be working with minors to better understand their reporting obligations, to recognize signs of child abuse, to detect predators, and to understand how to report suspected abuse.
This course should take approximately 40-45 minutes to complete. This does not need to be completed in one sitting. You can use the link to return and pick up where you left off. To ensure an optimal experience, the course description includes recommendations for compatible web browsers.
