Accountability in Action was designed to unpack the complexities around accountability, particularly in organizational settings where power dynamics play a significant role. This session encouraged participants to see accountability not as punitive but as transformative. It delved into the emotional aspects of being called out, aiming to cultivate a culture where feedback is received with gratitude and a commitment to growth.

  • Active Allyship: Strategies for Support

From understanding the complexities of being an "ally" to designing actionable initiatives, Active Allyship focused on the pragmatic aspect of how each individual, regardless of their organizational role, can contribute to change-making efforts.

  • Disrupting the Pattern: Practicing Mindful Intervention

Disrupting the Pattern aimed to equip participants with the skills and insights needed to actively intervene in situations where harm occurs. This session took a comprehensive approach, examining not just the initial act of intervention but also the often-overlooked aftermath. This session explored the idea that mastering the art of addressing smaller hurts can empower us to tackle larger ones effectively.

  • Inclusive Communities: Creating Opportunities for Connection

Inclusive Communities provided participants with active ways to cultivate space with intentionality. Participants gained the tools and skills necessary to shape a more inclusive space by staying in a beginner mindset, understanding the importance of holding people accountable with grace, and evaluating leadership as a community effort.

  • Power Dynamics and Decision-making: Reimagining Hierarchies

This workshop critically examined existing hierarchical structures and explored alternative governance models. Participants engaged in a "Fishbowl Conversation" to share experiences, followed by a discussion of alternative models, and finally, a simulation to test these new models. The goal was to dismantle traditional hierarchies in favor of shared decision-making.

  • Transformative Spaces

Transformative Spaces was a series of workshops offered as professional development for Office of the Provost staff. This series challenged participants to become proactive agents of change. The workshops helped staff build the skills and the tools to navigate and reshape a more inclusive workplace.
