How would you describe your organization to someone who hasn't heard of it?

African Graduate Student Association (AGSA) is a newly-affiliated organization that brings together African graduate students across various departments at Northwestern. Our mission is to provide a space for students to connect, share experiences, and support each other academically and professionally. Through our events, programs, and initiatives, we aim to promote diversity and inclusion, foster global engagement, and enhance the academic and professional experiences of African graduate students at Northwestern University.

Who is eligible to join your organization?

Anyone who identifies as African or has an interest in building community with African students is welcome to join our organization.

How does one "join" your organization?

You can join our organization by subscribing to our listserv, emailing us at agsa@u.northwestern.edu to get a link to our WhatsApp chat, and also by following our Instagram at agsa_nu.

What can new members expect from your organization?

AGSA is a newly established organization, and new members can anticipate active participation in the organization's formative stage. Join us and be a part of our history.

What would you say is one of your organization's biggest successes or achievements?

During our official first event, we enjoyed the company of over 40 students from across the continent and various parts of campus. Our members cooked up delicious food, evoking memories of home and community.
