Depending on your loan type, interest accrual and principal repayment timing may differ. When you graduate from or leave Northwestern, you’ll have an exit interview to review these obligations.
Repayment typically begins after you graduate or leave the university, following a grace period.
Loan interest rates may vary and interest starts to accrue as soon as the loan is disbursed to your student account.
You can request a temporary forbearance if you are temporarily unable to make your scheduled monthly loan payments under certain circumstances.
NU Loan borrowers must follow certain terms and conditions and should review and understand these terms before taking out loans.
