Dean Toni-Marie Montgomery, who recently completed her first year as head of the School of Music, spoke to members of the Alumnae of Northwestern University at the John Evans Alumni Center in March. In February, accompanied by a group of School of Music graduate student performers, she met with more than 150 alumni and guests in Phoenix, Sun City and Tucson, Ariz.

History buffs from the School of Music can trace the early days of their alma mater through Advancing Music for a Century, a 268-page illustrated hardback book that recounts the story of the School's history from its beginnings as part of the Northwestern Female College to its current renown as a leader for music in higher education.
