Religious studies major secures Ertegun Scholarship for Oxford University

The Office of Fellowships is pleased to announce that Adina Goldman (WCAS ’18) has been named Northwestern University’s first-ever winner of the Ertegun Scholarship! As a scholar, Adina will pursue a master’s degree in medieval studiesAdina Goldman at the University of Oxford, in England.

Adina is a religious studies major, from New York, with minors in anthropology, music, and English. Alongside her myriad academic interests, Adina is an avid language learner who has studied Hebrew, Modern Standard Arabic, Aramaic, and Italian.

Upon graduating, Adina will leave Northwestern having completed a remarkable body of research, which includes being a Kaplan Humanities Scholar, a Leopold Fellow, and a Franke Undergraduate Fellow. Adina is also the recipient of several awards for her writing, including the Jill Stacey Harris Prize in Jewish Studies and the Alice Kaplan Prize for Best Global Humanities Paper. At Oxford, Adina will carry on her research career while living in Exeter College.

As a member of the seventh cohort of Ertegun Scholars, Ertegun LogoAdina will receive financial support to cover the full cost of attendance. Scholars also have access to a program of lectures, seminars, concerts, and other activities designed especially for them.
