Food Accessibility

Individuals experiencing difficulty accessing food should immediately contact the SES Office. There are robust support systems in place to ensure that all students have access to nutritious food and groceries.

Purple Pantry (PP) Access

Purple Pantry is open weekly on Thursdays from 11:00a.m.-2:00p.m. It is now located in Hinman Hall (1835 Hinman Ave Evanston, IL 60208).

Students having trouble accessing food can drop by the Purple Pantry to grab free snacks and groceries. The Purple Pantry is intended to be as barrier-free as possible, so it accommodates individuals with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, and halal dietary needs.

For questions or to suggest items to meet your dietary restriction, please email purplepantry@northwestern.edu.

About the Purple Pantry

Purple Pantry is the on-campus food pantry that students facing food insecurity (nonreliable access to a sufficient quantity of nutritious food) can go to fill that need. The Purple Pantry is intended to be as barrier-free as possible, so it accommodates individuals with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, and halal dietary needs.
