Food Accessibility

Individuals experiencing difficulty accessing food should immediately contact the SES Office. There are robust support systems in place to ensure that all students have access to nutritious food and groceries. 

Purple Pantry (PP) Access During COVID-19

Winter 2021 Hours: Purple Pantry will be holding weekly sessions on Thursday's from 11AM - 2PM CST starting Thursday, January 14th. About the Purple Pantry 

In partnership with Student Enrichment Services, the Purple Pantry is coordinated by Mary Deeley, Pastoral Associate with the Sheil Catholic Center (2110 Sheridan Road).  Students experiencing difficulty accessing food can drop by the Purple Pantry to receive free snacks and groceries. The Purple Pantry is intended to be as barrier-free as possible, so it accommodates individuals with vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, and halal dietary needs. For questions, to schedule an individual appointment, or to suggest produce to meet your dietary restriction, please email purplepantry@northwestern.edu.  

SNAP Benefits 

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, helps individuals and families with financial need gain access to food and meals. For more information on eligibility requirements and to get assistance with completing your SNAP application, please complete the SES Interest form by clicking here
