Wildcat Welcome

All incoming students and their families from the Chicagoland area are invited to attend!

Guests will have an opportunity to meet current students, staff, faculty, and alumni. We’ll engage in casual conversations around the first-generation and/or lower-income (FGLI) experience at Northwestern and provide information on topics ranging from what to expect as a FGLI student to answering questions about what resources exist across campus.

Check back for 2020 Event Information.

Annual SES Open House

On the first day of Wildcat Welcome, SES welcomes close to 500 students and family members to the Annual SES Open House. Guests are able to meet the SES Team, connect with current students, and hear from several campus partners including the Health Insurance Office, CAPS, Financial Aid, and more.

Welcome Kits are also provided to incoming students.  Each Kit has free items, including brand-new towels, sheets, a Passion Planner, and more.

This year's event took place on Monday, September 16th from 1:00 to 3:30 pm in the Ryan Fieldhouse Atrium.

Thank you to our generous donors and trustees for making this event happen each year!

Every year, SES hosts a massive Ice Cream Social to welcome all first-generation and/or lower-income (FGLI) students to campus. This year's event took place on Monday, September 23rd from 2-4 pm in the Deering Library Lounge.
