Hidden No More: Women in Higher Education at Northwestern

Hidden No More is an effort to identify the history of female faculty members and graduate students at Northwestern. Inspired by the One Book One Northwestern selection, Hidden Figures, Hidden No More reveals the names and narratives of the women/womxn who have taught as professors and conducted research at Northwestern since its founding.

Mostly in everything I did I was the only woman.”

Ruth Freinkel, a professor and dermatology researcher

The Hidden No More website tells these stories through an interactive timeline, biographies and archival materials. These stories touch on the broader history of women's inclusion in the workplace and provide a glimpse into Northwestern's history as an institution.
