9,000 pounds diverted from the landfill during Move Out

More than 9,000 lbs of reusable clothes, household items, and nonperishable food were collected, donated, and diverted from the landfill during this year’s Move Out program. An impressive 8,800 lbs of clothing and household items were donated to the Northwestern Settlement House and Charity Pickup Service, an organization which works with Purple Heart and Vietnam Veterans of America and operates local thrift stores.

More than 330 lbs of nonperishable food was donated to the NU Campus Kitchens Project (CKP). This donation will be used to provide meals and food baskets to those served by CKP this summer.
