Additional Pay

Additional pay to Northwestern employees beyond their normal regular pay is only authorized under special circumstances and conditions. Please see the Office of Human Resources webpage on Additional Pay for the full policy.

Additional pay is commonly charged to non-sponsored funds. To charge a sponsored project, the pay must be allowed by the sponsor and it requires additional approval from the Office of Sponsored Research and Accounting Services for Research and Sponsored Programs. When requesting an approval, please complete the following form and upload it to myHR, Additional Pay Approval.
