Training
Student Affairs staff seeking to be trained on applications have several options, depending on the type of application in question.
Productivity Software
Productivity software includes the Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suites. The Office of Human Resources provides a comprehensive playlist of classes on these topics. Northwestern also partners with LinkedIn Learning to provide staff with online courses on many different topics.
Department-Specific Applications
Although SAIT provides implementation and ongoing back-end support for many specialized vendor applications used around the division, it is not equipped to provide training on day-to-day use of these systems.
Staff have two options for training on department-specific applications:
- Some departments may select subject matter experts (SMEs) from among their staff to provide front-end training to colleagues.
- Vendors often provide training resources. These may include online courses, electronic documentation, on-site training, or in-person training at vendor locations. Applicable vendor fees may apply. Departments that require SAIT assistance in bringing trainers to campus can submit a Support Request.
