Computer Acquisition and Replacement

SAIT works to ensure that individual computing equipment for Student Affairs staff is replaced on a life-cycle that ensures its effectiveness, and that computing equipment adheres to SAIT standards. 

Most Student Affairs staff are issued a "primary computer" by SAIT.  Laptop computers are standard issue unless there are special needs or circumstances.  SAIT works with SALT on a quarterly basis to fund replacements of staff primary computers as their warranties expire, and staff members will receive a notification when their computer is scheduled for replacement.

Please note, the division is still working on how best to fund computer labs, secondary devices, peripherals, and other technology purchases.  Department heads can request these types of purchases, as well as off-schedule replacements or new acquisitions for staff, by submitting a Support Request.
