Participate

There are many ways, large and small, to participate in One Book. Whether it is informally discussing the book with friends or attending an event, we hope the entire community takes part.  If you have questions or ideas on how to get involved, contact us at onebook@northwestern.edu.

Here are some ideas to get started:

Read the book

One Book selections are carefully chosen for their literary merit and thought-provoking content. All are encouraged to pick it up. Copies can be obtained at the Norris Bookstore (847)491-3990 or on-line through Amazon.com.

Read on-line for free

If you have a wildcard, you can read the book on-line through the Northwestern library. http://nucat.library.northwestern.edu/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?BBID=7234636

In the NUcat record click on the link: An electronic book accessible through the World Wide Web; click to view.  You will be asked for your NETID and password. That will take you to an electronic copy of the book.

Come to an event

From keynote lectures to small book discussions, there are a variety of One Book events for those who want to take advantage of the program. Sign up for our mailing list, join us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter to stay informed about upcoming events. Most are open to the public.

Participate in the classroom

  • Are you a professor? Consider weaving the One Book selection and related topics into your course, and send us an email at onebook@northwestern.edu to let us know about it.
  • Are you a student? Consider taking a class that that incorporates One Book into the curriculum from one of these professors.
