Latinx/e Heritage Month (nationally known as Hispanic Heritage Month) is celebrated September 15 - October 15. The University community hosts a variety of events and installations which aim to educate on Latinx/e stories, histories, cultures, and issues, along with building community on campus.
Native American & Indigenous Heritage Month: November
For Native American and Indigenous Heritage Month, Northwestern celebrates with 30 Days of Indigenous, a month-long series of programming, educational offerings and invitations to deepen engagement and learning.
Black History Month: February
Black History Month, also known as African American History Month, is an annual observance and celebration in the United States and some other countries. It takes place in February each year and is dedicated to honoring and recognizing the achievements, contributions, and history of African Americans, their culture, and their role in shaping the nation.
Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month: May
Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month, also known as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, is an annual observance in the United States that takes place during the month of May. It is dedicated to celebrating and recognizing the diverse and rich cultural heritage, contributions, and histories of Asian Americans, Pacific Islanders, and individuals of Desi (South Asian) descent who have played a significant role in shaping the country.
