LGBTQIA+ Advisory Board

Born out of a desire to make Northwestern a more inclusive and supportive environment for LGBTQIA students, the LGBTQ Advisory Board (LAB) in 2016 with the GSRC was apart of MSA. Through relationships and partnerships across campus, MSA identified a need for LGBTQIA undergraduate and graduate students to be in community and to build coalitions together.

The Advisory Board meets monthly to discuss any issues and or needs LGBTQIA students deem important while also providing council and feedback about GSRC operation and events. Some of the Advisory Board’s work includes a Queer Wellness Retreat, sending a delegation to Creating Change, curating the ordinal suggestions for the GQNBT Task Force Report, serving as a space for feedback for various NU departments, and building all gender bathroom advocacy strategy.

The Advisory board is comprised of LGBTQIA+ students leaders involved in queer student organizations and/or the Associated student government. If you are an exec member of an LGBTQIA+ student organization or a queer member of ASG, please contact the GSRC at GSRC@northwestern.edu to get invited to LAB!
