How do I pay for Facilities work?

You must provide an NU Financials chartstring. For more information, visit the Billing and Payment Procedures web page.

How do I request an estimate?

How do I place a work order or service request?

How can I request more toilet paper/paper towels/hand soap?

We will forward the provided information to our custodial crew. New supplies should arrive on the same day if possible, otherwise on the following day.

Can you help with a bug/rodent infestation?

Yes; our exterminator visits the office daily to pick up requests.

If the request is urgent it will be dispatched immediately and the problem will be taken care of the same day. Otherwise it will likely be taken care of the next business day. You will not be charged for the service.

Can you unlock a room or office?

No. To unlock an office you will need to contact University Police. Call 847-491-3456 (Evanston) or 312-503-3456 (Chicago).

Can you move furniture/boxes between rooms?

All moves are handled by Reebie Storage and Moving Co., Northwestern’s preferred vendor for moving. Departments and schools should submit requests directly to Reebie using the Moving Service Request Form. This form streamlines the moving request and scheduling process and provides an email confirmation of the request. 

Reebie’s on-campus manager is: Bob LoBianco, 708-307-2107 or rlobianco@reebieallied.com.

Please submit your moving requests with as much advance notice as possible. Departments and schools will be charged via the re-charge center/central bill process, unless other arrangements have been made with Reebie.

Can you fix a broken phone?

No; phone services are handled by Northwestern University Information Technology (NUIT) Services. For telephone repair, call NUIT repair at 611 from any campus phone.

What do I do with furniture and property I no longer need?

The Surplus Property Exchange is an online bulletin board where Northwestern departments can list surplus University property, including computers, appliances and electrical equipment that are in good condition.

What do we recycle on campus?

What do I do if an electric vehicle charging station is not working?

Email sustainNU at sustainNU@northwestern.edu for maintenance. 

How do I request service for a bike fix-it station?

Email sustainNU at sustainNU@northwestern.edu for maintenance.

Facilities Connect

How do I request access or modify access to Facilities Connect?

Requests for new user access and modifications to existing access are handled by Financial Operations IT. This is the same group that currently manages FAMIS access requests and the process is the same. Please complete the General Security Access Form . Access request will need to be approved through the Dean’s office just as they are today for FAMIS requests.

Can I look up older FAMIS Work Orders?

There is a list of Standing Work Orders that existed is FAMIS and their corresponding FC Work Task number.  You can locate the Converted FAMIS Work Orders report here.

How do I make a Key Request?

Whether you have lost a key or have a new employee, start a Key Request with the Key Form.  

Add the completed Key Form to a Service Request in the Related Documents section, or include the form in an email to Customer Service (facilities@northwestern.edu).
