Campus Drive closure at Central Utility Plant

Northwestern’s Central Utility Plant (CUP) project on the Evanston campus will require crews to close an isolated portion of Campus Drive, immediately east of (CUP), March 23-25. This three-day road closure will accommodate a construction crane that will block the roadway.
Pedestrian walkways will remain open, and the work will not cause any disruption to utility services. Parking and loading docks at University Library will not be affected.

Evanston Power Outage

RESOLVED. This morning's storm interrupted power to the Evanston Campus Central Utility Plant. Cooling and heat capacity has been significantly reduced, and may impact air conditioning and hot water in campus buildings. Crews are mobilizing to restore services.

Following morning storms, power was restored to the Central Utility Plant Saturday evening, and services were brought back online across the Evanston campus overnight.

We appreciate your patience while the system is restored. Updates will be posted over the course of the day. UPDATE: System appears to be restored and operating properly. Please call Facilities Customer Service with any residual issues.
