The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion leads initiatives and guides policy at the enterprise-level to create an increasingly inclusive, diverse, equitable, and welcoming environment for all Northwestern community members – including students, faculty, and staff.
The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion supports Northwestern’s twelve schools and colleges across three campuses – Evanston, Chicago, and Qatar. We are committed to advancing an institutional infrastructure that values inclusion, diversity, equity, and accountability (IDEA) as fundamental principles. We work towards dismantling barriers and creating pathways for underrepresented and marginalized communities at the enterprise level. Through educational resources, policy advocacy, and strategic partnerships we utilize evidence-based practices to further cultivate a university climate where every member of the Northwestern community can thrive.

The INSIGHT Into Diversity Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award annually recognizes colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion was established in 2015 and is situated within the Office of the Provost.
