The University Circle Tuition Scholarship Information Sheet
Purpose: to provide funding for employees of the University, who are employed by the University, who are continuing their education through Northwestern’s School of Continuing Studies.
Eligibility: Eligibility is limited to employees of the University and who are working toward the completion of a degree or certificate through Northwestern’s School of Continuing Studies. Preference will be given to members of the University Circle and to women.
Restrictions: Applicants must be in good academic standing with a minimum “B” average, at Northwestern University, and must have been employed by Northwestern University for more than one year.
Deadline: The University Circle Tuition Scholarship Chair should receive the application and all supporting materials by March 1st.
The application must include the following information:
- List Your High School and Post-High School Transcript beginning with the most recent.
- Please attach a NU Transcript if applicable.
- Please attach any other post-secondary education transcript.
- A Recommendation from a Professor in the Program in which you are pursuing a degree or certificate.
In addition list any of the following, if applicable:
- List any Professional Experiences
- List Awards
- List Presentations
- List Publications
- List Professional Memberships
Basis for Selection: The following areas will be taken into consideration by the University Circle Scholarship Committee as it chooses the award winner: Clarity of and dedication to stated goals, past academic record, financial need, Northwestern University or other community involvement, University Circle membership (optional).
Award Notification: The announcement of the award winner will be made at the Annual Meeting of the University Circle in May of each year. The winner will be notified no later than May 15.
Amount of Award: The Scholarship awarded will be up to $1,000.
