SafeRide Evanston Campus.
SafeRide is a service provided to members of the Northwestern community as a safe and free alternative to walking alone after dark.
SafeRide operates from 7:00 pm to 3:00 am seven days a week during the academic year when classes are in session; excluding summer session.
SafeRide drivers provide rides from campus to destinations off campus within our Evanston boundaries and back to campus.
SafeRide is not a taxi. Please remember that SafeRide doesn’t have the capacity to provide rides to every one of our students so always plan ahead. SafeRide should always be used in conjunction with other safe travel options such as walking in groups, using the Northwestern Shuttle Service, or using one of the local Taxi services
Whenever you’re walking at night stay alert, know your surroundings, and become familiar with the locations of Emergency Police “Blue Light” telephones (call boxes).
SafeRide is staffed by student employees and administrators dedicated to enhancing campus safety.
