Medicine and Public Health

Degree Types: MD/MPH

The combined MD/MPH degree is available to incoming medical students in the Feinberg School of Medicine and prepares graduates to lead advances in health and health equity through discovery and implementation of leading-edge clinical care, research, health policy, and health communication. Students in the combined degree program can earn both the MD and MPH degrees in four years.

The program is designed for students seeking:

  • Opportunities to advance quality, equitable health for populations through field work and research at the intersection of medicine and public health.
  • Interdisciplinary coursework highlighting biostatistics, epidemiology, advanced research methods, behavioral science, health equity, and health communication.
  • The quantitative, educational, organizational, and practical skills for success in leading future public health practice, teaching, and/or research endeavors.
