Attend an ARPA-E Informational Session
The Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) will host an informational session on Monday, October 26 from 9:30–10:30 AM in the Technological Institute – Room K140 on the Evanston campus. Attendees will learn about the Agency as well as current and upcoming opportunities, including the agency’s Summer Scholars program, its Fellows program, and the ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit Student Program.
ARPA-E is a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) agency that develops funding programs, such as the following, to support next-generation energy technologies with the potential to transform American energy.
- Summer Scholars Program: Summer internship for graduate (i.e., MBA, PhD, and MS) students. Summer Scholars work on projects at the intersection of energy technology and markets, the results of which often lead to commercialization of products developed by ARPA-E awardees.
- Fellows Program: Fellows (recent PhD graduates in STEM fields) explore technical “white spaces” related to energy. They generate ideas for and help establish new programs at ARPA-E. Fellows are Federal Employees and spend about two years at the Agency.
- Summit Student Program: The Summit’s Student Program is for graduate-level students who want to immerse themselves in a collaborative innovation ecosystem at the 2027 ARPA-E Energy Innovation Summit from Monday, April 26 – Wednesday, April 28, 2027, in Orlando, Florida.
The informational session will consist of a presentation about ARPA-E and the engagement opportunities, followed by Q&A. Please email Dr. Srini Mirmira (srinivas.mirimira@doe.gov) or Dr. Stella Fors (stella.fors@doe.gov) with any questions beforehand.
