Biometric Information Privacy
Northwestern University has a number of facilities on campus requiring fingerprints as an additional access security measure. Northwestern’s Biometric Information Privacy Policy, provides information about:
- The limited circumstances under which the University might disclose biometric information;
- The standards for storage of biometric information;
- The maximum length of time (six months) the University has to delete such information after the biometric information is no longer needed; and
- A requirement that biometric system users provide written consent.
Employees, students, contractors and others whose biometric information is needed by the University must submit a consent form on DocuSign.
