Title: Earth Day 2010 - Project Survival Panel
Description: The 2009-2010 One Book project will culminate with a full day celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day. In January 1970, just months before the very first National Earth Day, Northwestern alumni lead "Project Survival", an environmental teach-in that drew thousands to Northwestern's Tech auditorium. Participants discussed pressing environmental threats from 6pm until 6am the following morning. Having gone on to prestigious careers in the field, many of the Project Survival alumni will return to Northwestern campus to speak. The panelists will reflect on their experiences organizing effective change on a college campus, where the environmental movement has gone in the past 40 years, and what they view as the primary threats to environmental progress today. Held at the McCormick Tribune Center (1870 Campus Dr), Forum Room, on Northwestern's Evanston Campus.
