Description: Professor Thomas Gladwin’s current and future research centers on establishing and promulgating a science of sustainable enterprise, a new transdisciplinary field addressing relationships among ecosystems, social systems, economic systems and organizational systems. Ongoing research topics include transformational leadership for sustainable development, standards and metrics of sustainable business, biomimetic design of industrial organizations, sustainable cognition and ecological design intelligence, socially and environmentally sustainable economic globalization, business impact on biodiversity, sustainable mobility, corporate responses to global climate change, and understanding human organizations as living systems. Description: Come out Tues at 9am and Weds at noon - Rain or Shine - to help prepare the One Book 5' x 90' on-campus garden site.  Students will help remove existing perennials for transplant to other campus sites, till/compost the soil, and lay seed for a winter cover crop.  All participants will receive a One Book One Northwestern long sleeve shirt to garden in.  Dress to get messy!  Please email onebook@northwestern.edu with times you are available between 9-1 on Tues and 12-4 on Weds (we estimate 2-4 hours of work each day).  You need not be able to stay the whole time, or be there at 9/12 to participate, but we are trying to balance the number of students, so PLEASE RSVP.
