Sarah Thuo is a Supply Chain and Sustainability Executive with over 19 years of leadership experience across consulting and private equity operator roles, focused on building resilient and responsible operations. She brings a practical, strategic perspective to sustainable supply chain design, risk management, and transformational change.

Her previous roles include Partner/ Principal in the Supply Chain Practice at EY-Parthenon, COO of IBM’s Global Sustainable Supply Chain Center of Competency, and VP of Supply Chain and Strategic Initiatives for private equity-backed manufacturing firms, where she led merger integration, optimization, and planning processes. Recognized for her industry contributions, Sarah has been named a Top 100 Women in Supply Chain by Supply Chain Digital Magazine in 2024 and 2025, and as Top 100 Women in Sustainability in 2023 by Sustainability Magazine. She is a frequent contributor to industry dialogue, having spoken at COP27 and New York Climate Week, and authored Sustainability perspectives for forums such as Forbes Middle East and the Economist Impact.

Sarah holds an MBA and a Master of Information Science from Boston University, a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from McGill University, and a certificate in the Future of Sustainable Business from Oxford University. She has served as a Guest Lecturer in Sustainable Sourcing at the University of Arkansas and actively mentors students pursuing careers in Supply Chain and Sustainability.

Sarah joins Northwestern University with a commitment to connecting real-world industry challenges with academic frameworks, preparing students to lead the transition toward efficient and sustainable supply chains.
