Anthony Kingsley is an adjunct professor within Northwestern's Master of Science in Energy and Sustainability (MSES) Program.

He is the Director of Sustainability at Benson Hill, a leading food innovation engine that combines data science and machine learning with biology and genetics. He also serves as a Board Member for Family Farmed, a Chicago based nonprofit supporting sustainable food systems.

Anthony has over 14 years’ experience in corporate sustainability, community development, and education across Europe, Southeast Asia, and the US. He cultivates sustainability within the food system through a deep understanding and passion for how our food is grown and raised. As a researcher, educator, and presenter, Anthony engages the food sector by sharing best practices and leveraging diner and consumer trends.

Before coming to Benson Hill, Anthony was the Local & Sustainable Product Lead at US Foods, the second largest foodservice distributor in the US. He also has experience as the Sustainability & CSR Lead for Vacherin, a bespoke foodservice management company in London, U.K. He spent several years working for Starfish Group Asia running community development and volunteering programs in SE Asia. Anthony has consulted for many companies over the years, and in 2015 he was awarded ‘Sustainability Professional of the Year’ in the U.K., by the Edie Sustainability Leaders Awards. He holds a Master of Science in Sustainability & Management, and a Master of Arts in Political Science.
