Medical School

This year's alumni weekend in late April attracted more than 400 people to the Medical School campus. In addition to the education sessions and campus tours, alumni attended the groundbreaking for the 12-story Robert H. Lurie Medical Research Center on the Chicago campus. At the Reunion Ball, they honored three distinguished alumni, James Webster (M53, GM56, 60, 64), Louis Boshes (WCAS31, M36, 38, GME40) and Ralph Paffenbarger (M47), for lifetime achievement and outstanding service to the Medical School.

Andrew Bunta (WCAS64, M67, GM74), assistant professor and vice chair of orthopaedic surgery, began his term as president of the Alumni Association National Board.

On Oct. 13 the Medical School honors its donors at its annual gala, All That Greatness Demands, at the brand-new Peninsula Hotel on Chicago's Near North Side. Among this year's honorees are Ruth Dunbar Davee (G37, 42), the Fazen family, Ann Lurie and Clifford Raisbeck (WCAS50, M53, GM61).
