NU Night Market
Campus Inclusion & Community Edition
Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025 | 7 to 9 p.m.
Event begins on Foster-Walker Lawn, 1927 Orrington Ave.
Campus Inclusion & Community (CIC) presents the NU Night Market: Campus Inclusion & Community Edition. Across the world, night markets are known to reflect the local culture and community. We invite incoming first-year and transfer students to visit the spaces and learn about the departments within CIC who work to build a sense of inclusion and belonging for all students on campus.
Our spaces — The Black House, Gender & Sexuality Resource Center, Multicultural Center, Parkes Hall, and Student Enrichment Services — showcase academic partnerships and serve as a living museum where the Northwestern community can come to learn about the deep, rich histories each space represents. Each location has, or is developing, a library for educational purposes and houses archival materials related to the focus of its space.
CIC Night Market will extend the length of Sheridan Road with a starting point on Foster-Walker Lawn. Stop by each of our locations along the way to take a tour, meet the CIC staff who support students year-round, and connect with student organizations to get involved on campus.
- The Gender & Sexuality Resource Center supports all students working toward personal and community empowerment and awareness by cofacilitating community events, educational initiatives, and institutional partnerships.
- Leadership Development and Community Engagement creates sustained partnerships on campus and in the community that advance student learning, transformation, and commitment to active citizenship.
- Multicultural Student Affairs provides programming, staff, and spaces that help all students explore their identity, build an inclusive environment, and develop a strong sense of belonging.
- Religious and Spiritual Life provides programs, staff, and spaces to help students explore meaning and purpose, grow in their religious or spiritual traditions, and create community through campus-wide partnerships. (Parkes Hall will be closed during the event but is still a resource for students)
- Student Enrichment Services strives to build a Northwestern community that is welcoming, supportive, and accessible for all students.
