Computer Support

Computer Acquisition and Replacement

We are working to ensure individual computing equipment for DOSA staff is replaced on a life-cycle that ensures its effectiveness. Staff members receive notifications when their computers are scheduled for replacement. Department heads can request off-schedule replacements or new acquisitions for staff by submitting a request using the Computer Support Form.

Systems Maintenance

SAIT maintains several core Student Affairs specific applications and the infrastructure required to support them. If you experience issues using shared applications, please contact SAIT using the Computer Support Form.

Website Development and Content Management

The SAIT Web Group provides web support ranging from assistance with content updates, web writing, cascade training, new website development, and the addition of dynamic and media-rich features. In order to ensure we are able to meet your needs, submit your request as early as possible via the Computer Support Form.

Application Development

SAIT provides limited custom application development depending on the complexity of the requested solution and staff commitments. In order to ensure we are able to meet your needs and to discuss the requirements of your request, submit your request as early as possible via Computer Support Form.

Product Acquisition

Selection of a technology product for use at Northwestern University requires consideration of a number of factors to determine whether it is compatible with the NU technology environment, complies with security standards, and meets functional needs. This process requires the participation of SAIT, NUIT, Office of General Counsel, and the requesting department. The best approach to navigating this process is to contact SAIT as early as possible.

Training

SAIT provides a number of training options from one-on-one, small/large groups to departments based on the training request and requirements.  If you have an Information Technology or Information Systems training request or need further information about SAIT Training contact Nina Modi, Systems Manager SAIT or email sa-help@northwestern.edu.

Business Liaison Program

The Business Liaison Program is a partnership program between Student Affairs departments and SAIT. This program allows departments to share information about any upcoming information technology or information systems needs. The SAIT Liaison would meet with department heads to discuss how to solicit feedback from staff.  One option would be for the Liaison to attend departmental staff meetings when appropriate.
