Student Resources Gateway

As a Northwestern undergraduate, you have access to many people who can help you thrive at the university, deal with and grow from challenges, and prepare for whatever comes next. The diagram below illustrates one way to think about types of available support and guidance.

How can you figure out whom to contact with your questions or concerns? Some tips:

  • Your academic adviser is often a good first stop. You can find adviser names and set up an appointment through ConnectNU.
  • Academics and other aspects of your life are intertwined. Academic advisers are knowledgeable about resources across the university. They can also help you come up with specific questions to ask when you meet with someone in another office.
  • The Academic Resource Directory maintained by Academic Support and Learning Advancement (ASLA)can help you find tutoring, group study opportunities, general academic support, and other academic opportunities.
  • Other people you encounter as you navigate through Northwestern—including course instructors and your fellow students—can be valuable sources of support and guidance too.
