Associated Student Government (ASG)
ASG is the Associated Student Government of Northwestern, a group of undergraduate students devoted to working on behalf of the Northwestern community. ASG discusses and acts on ways to make Northwestern an overall better experience for students. We work with Northwestern administrators to bring change to the university, but we also provide services directly to students. ASG is comprised of a student Senate – broadly representative of the varied student interests at Northwestern – an executive board, and 14 working committees that address issues affecting student life, academics, relations with Evanston, student groups, and more. ASG believes in building a better Northwestern.
Center for Legal Studies, Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences
The Legal Studies program at Northwestern University provides an environment where students and scholars study legal issues using the methodology and perspectives of the social sciences and humanities.
Legal Studies offers undergraduates the chance to engage in exciting, critical work with professors from all over Northwestern and from the professional world, with courses on a variety of innovative topics. Recent favorites include Law & Society; Human Rights and U.S. Refugee Law; Sociology of Law; Legal and Constitutional History of the United States; and Race, Politics, and the Law. At the graduate level, Legal Studies provides programmatic content for graduate students throughout the university interested in the interdisciplinary study of law, legal institutions, and/or legal processes broadly construed.
English Department, Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences
Northwestern's English Department is an energetic, collegial community of distinguished scholars teaching and publishing in a wide range of literary, cultural, and creative fields, with a variety of disciplinary and methodological approaches.
Located in historic University Hall, our highly ranked department has more than thirty renowned faculty members, publishing frequently and intensely involved in teaching. Many of our faculty hold joint appointments and teach courses in related programs and departments, such as American Studies, African American Studies, Classics, Comparative Literary Studies, WCAS undergraduate Drama, Gender Studies, History, the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Theater and Drama, and Religion. The department also houses Renaissance Drama and--as part of its own lively culture--sponsors a large number of talks, readings, workshops, and colloquia.
History Department, Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences
By teaching us about the lives and circumstances of people remote from us in time and space, the study of history helps us understand how our own world came into being—and how to question its assumptions. The study of history also teaches us how to interpret the complex unfolding of events and express our understanding in clear speech and prose, using evidence and narrative to convey our argument. Students who study history go into careers in law and medicine, commerce and public service, the arts and media, research and teaching, and many other walks of life. The Department takes great pride in our excellent course offerings and our prize-winning teaching.
Medill School of Journalism, Media, & Integrated Marketing Communications
Medill, a leader in education since 1921, offers programs in journalism and integrated marketing communications that combine enduring skills and values with new techniques and knowledge that are essential to thrive in today's digital world.

Northwestern Pritzker School of Law
Northwestern Law uniquely blends a rigorous intellectual environment with a collegial and supportive community. Our students have access to the most interdisciplinary research faculty in the nation. We also have one of the lowest student-faculty ratios, so our students enjoy an unusual amount of individual access to these scholars, even after graduation.

Political Science Department, Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences
Now entering our second century at Northwestern University, we are one of the largest departments within Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences, with over 60 faculty, 90 graduate students, 550 undergraduate major and minors and 5 administrators.
We are one of the most intellectually diverse faculty on campus. Every year we offer over a hundred undergraduate and graduate courses, relating to the politics of legislatures, governments, economies, law, judiciaries, firms, banks, everyday people, insurgent movements and more. We study politics using multiple methods including statistics, field research, experiments, textual and historical analysis. Our faculty and students study politics in America, Europe, Latin America, China, international institutions, Southeast Asian, Russia, the Middle Eastern, Africa, and really anywhere politics are at play.
School of Education & Social Policy
The School of Education and Social Policy (SESP) at Northwestern University seeks to understand and improve learning at every stage of life and in all contexts — from families and communities to schools and workplaces. And since we’re the smallest school at Northwestern, our own community is truly unique.
Nationally and internationally, the School of Education and Social Policy is known for innovation, an interdisciplinary approach and major research, as well as excellent faculty and students. With 400 undergraduates, 300 graduate students and 34 faculty, SESP offers a personal environment and active collaboration within the larger university.
