My name is Vinni Bhatia, and I'm a senior majoring in Economics and Statistics. I'm from Detroit, Michigan, and absolutely love watching Detroit sports. On campus, I'm also a tutor for NU Tutors, and am Editor-in-Chief of the Northwestern Business Review. I am extremely excited for this year's One Book and can't wait to talk about it with other students!
Kelly Chen is a senior majoring in Philosophy and Statistics, with a Certificate in Financial Economics. On campus, she actively involves in Happiness Club, Cookology, Northwestern Capital Management, and Women’s Squash Club. Kelly feels extremely excited and honored to be a One Book fellow this year and is eager to connect One Book to the greater Northwestern community. In her free time, she enjoys exploring nature, photographing, and trying different cuisines.
My name is Yajaira (Yari) Gallegos, and I’m a junior from Berwyn, Illinois, a suburb right outside Chicago. I am studying Human Development & Psychological Services, and I hope to become a child and family therapist in the future. Here at Northwestern, I’m a part of Kappa Delta Chi, Phi Sigma Pi, NSFP's Family Ambassadors, and I dance for Ballet Folklorico Mexicano de Northwestern. In my free time, I love to try new coffee shops and restaurants in Chicago, explore the city’s art and music scene, and spend time with family and friends. I am so excited to be a One Book Fellow and help spark important discussions across campus with this year’s book selection!
Hi there! My name is David Guirgis, and I’m a rising sophomore at Northwestern University. I’m the Opinions editor for North By Northwestern magazine; a freelance writer blogger for F-Bomb, a feminist blog under the Women's Media Center; an editorial staff contributor for Sex, Etc., a nationally recognized sexual education magazine and website; and I’ve contributed articles to the Daily Northwestern, NU Asian Magazine, and the Huffington Post. In my spare time - when I have it, at least - you can catch me on the Lakefill on a good day with my speakers and a book.
My name is Srijit Paul and I am a sophomore majoring in Statistics and Biology from Seattle, Washington. On campus, I am involved in Biophysics research as well as Student Alumni Alliance, Cancer Outreach Prevention Education, Biology Student Association, and writing and editing for The Medical Decoder. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, biking, and cheering on the Seahawks. As a One Book Fellow, I look forward to planning events that will engage the entire student body and create meaningful dialogue.
