“In the North by Northwestern magazine last spring I wrote two articles, one about sexual acts on Dillo Day, and the other a personal essay about my father’s death. And I remember people joking around saying that the bylines had gotten messed up and that this couldn’t be the same person. But I am the same person.
“My dream job would be to do something like Joel McHale [host of the E! Entertainment Television series The Soup] or Daniel Tosh on [Comedy Central’s] Tosh.0 and kind of have my own place where I can talk about pop culture and entertainment news — and just things that are going on in the world — and put my commentary on it.”
Gabe Bergado, a journalism and gender studies double major from La Palma, Calif., is trying to figure out his next move, balancing his love of pop culture and his interest in social justice, which includes his leadership in Northwestern Men Against Rape and Sexual Assault.
