Phil (he/him/his) was a first-generation college student who earned a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications and a master's degree in Counseling and Student Development from Kansas State University. While in graduate school he worked as a GTA in the Diversity Programs Office in the College of Agriculture.

Prior to joining Health Professions Advising, Phil spent five years working as an academic advisor in the College of Science at Purdue University. In addition to advising, he also served as an instructor to the Computer Science Learning Community during that time. In that role, he organized events, dinners and study sessions for first-year computer science majors.

When he’s not on campus, Phil likes to be spend his time at the local bakeries, farmer’s market or Wrigley Field.
