Family Email Reminders

March 25, 2019

Dear Parents and Families of 2019 Degree Candidates:
Commencement is approaching and it is time for your student to reserve tickets for family and friends to attend the University Commencement and individual school convocation ceremonies.
Since you may be with your student this week during Northwestern's spring break, we wanted to send you a note regarding ticketing information. A separate email has been sent to your student with details on how to place their ticket order.

Beginning March 25th, students will be able to reserve guest tickets for Northwestern University’s 161st Commencement ceremony and for their graduating school’s convocations.
Students may request a maximum of ten (10) tickets for the Commencement ceremony. Once the tickets are reserved, a confirmation email will be sent to the student.

Please note, only Northwestern University students will be able to reserve, make adjustments, and print tickets for the Commencement and convocation ceremonies.
Family members and friends may not make separate ticketing requests for graduation ceremonies. It is the student's responsibility to print and distribute tickets to their guests.

If you have any questions related to Commencement weekend, you can contact the Commencement Office via email (commencement@northwestern.edu) or phone (847.491.3600).

Thank you, and we look forward to celebrating with you in June.

Sincerely,

Julie Payne-Kirchmeier, PhD, CASP
Kelly Schaefer, PhD

Commencement Co-Chairs

Dear Parents and Families of 2019 Degree Candidates:

I am pleased to announce that Northwestern University will hold its One Hundred and Sixty-First Annual Commencement at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Ryan Field. We look forward to welcoming family members and friends who have supported our students during their time at Northwestern, and encourage you to join us in celebrating their many accomplishments. As you plan for your time at Northwestern during Commencement Weekend, we want to make you aware of a few things:

  • Each participating degree candidate will be allocated 10 guest tickets for the ceremony held at Ryan Field. Tickets will be available beginning March 25, 2019.

    • Please note: In case of severe weather, the ceremony may be altered. This could include a delay in the start time, moving the ceremony to a different time in the weekend schedule, or some other accommodation. More information concerning severe weather plans for Commencement will be available on the Commencement website.
  • I invite you to attend the President's Reception, scheduled for Thursday, June 20, at 11:30 a.m., and the Baccalaureate Service that afternoon, from 4 to 5 p.m. No tickets are required for these events.

  • Individual school convocations, where graduates are recognized by name, follow the University Commencement ceremony at various times on Friday, June 21, and Saturday, June 22. Convocation ticket information will be sent to graduating students by their respective schools, and question concerning convocations should be directed to the individual school offices.
