Allison Porterfield-Woods is the Director of Enterprise Systems for HR and Student Systems within Northwestern IT. Allison returned to Northwestern 11 years ago as the application systems manager for the HR development team in IT. After over 5 years, she moved into a role managing the functional team for the finance, facilities, and research administration systems before moving into her current director role 4 years ago. Prior to joining NU, she worked in various technology roles at a number of corporations in the Chicago-land area. Allison has actively participated as an ANUW mentor and provided leadership for the development of the DEI group within Northwestern IT.

Outside of work, Allison sits on the national board and chairs the regional board for Compudopt, a not-for-profit organization committed to closing the digital divide by providing technology access and education. She has previously served on the board of the LPGA Amateurs Golf Association—Chicago chapter and the auxiliary board for Year-Up Chicago. Allison holds a bachelor’s of music degree from NU and an MBA from Purdue University.

She completed a certificate in mainframe programming at DePaul University and is PMP-certified. Effective December 4, Allison will continue her career at the College of Lake County in Illinois as the Chief Information Officer.
