Each academic year, more than 150 students enter into leadership positions within University Residential Life (URL). Our hall staff members are instrumental in positively influencing the lives of the more than 4,000 residents who live on campus.

Our staff and hall government officers are key role models in their residential communities. Together they provide opportunities for residents to get together, build relationships, and learn from each another. Our staff members create communities of learners, leaders, and responsible citizens by modeling the way; developing community standards; mediating conflicts; engaging residents in activities; educating students on a variety of topics; and responding to emergencies.

Besides contributing to the Northwestern community, those who get involved with URL also get a lot out of it!
