Movement Mindfulness: Introduction to the Alexander Technique (6 weeks)

Learn the Alexander Technique to increase mindfulness in your everyday movements and strengthen connection between mind and body. The Alexander Technique is a method of postural awareness known for helping performing artists to sustain their energy and physical presence onstage. By addressing and changing physical habits, it combats everyday physical stresses caused by hunching over desks, computers, and smartphones. Note: Alexander Technique is instructed both verbally and through light, respectful hands-on guidance. Please refer to syllabus for more information.

Tai Chi Quan (8 weeks)

Chinese imperial families practiced Yang-style Tai Chi to help princes and princesses learn martial arts and live healthier lives. Practitioners of Tai Chi today present a form of martial arts as beautifully choreographed "dancing". Health benefits include self-defense skills and stress relief, among many others.
