In November 2004 30 members of the NU Club of Chicago sorted and packaged food for hungry families at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Club members will be supporting this year's Dance Marathon fundraising effort for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International at Café Iberico Tapas Bar in downtown Chicago March 3. On March 5 Lynn Schnaiberg (J91), author of Outside Magazine's Urban Adventure: Chicago, will offer suggestions for outdoor fun in and around the city, followed by an indoor rock climbing session at Fitplex on North LaSalle Street. Later in the month author and career coach Rob Sullivan (GJ90) will discuss career planning at Goose Island in Wrigleyville.
In December 2004 the NU Club of San Diego celebrated the holidays at the La Jolla, Calif., home of Gina Mae Tapper (KSM82) and later gathered with other Big Ten Conference alumni at San Diego's Qualcomm Stadium to watch the San Diego Chargers battle the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Members of the NU Club of Sun Cities (Arizona) welcomed John Bachmann (KSM62), 2004-05 chair of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, senior partner at Edward Jones and the 2003 winner of the Kellogg School of Management Award for Distinguished Leadership, to the West Valley Art Museum in Surprise, Ariz., where he presented the "Ten Rules of Safe Investments." The club is looking forward to greeting alumni Sept. 17, when the Wildcats take on the Arizona State Sun Devils in Tempe.
