As the Mail & Package Center Manager, Ben supervises mail & package center staff (full-time and student staff) and maintains high-quality standards in mail software usage and mail distribution procedures. Ben is also responsible for training staff in software usage, operational procedures, and customer service skills. He oversees distribution of mail and packages to satellite mail locations including graduate housing and serves as liaison to the various carriers that deliver to campus.
Ben joins Northwestern University as a seasoned operations manager with extensive logistics experience. He has a passion for leading teams through challenges and opportunities. He joins Northwestern University after a successful career at FedEx, where he started as a front-line manager in the Chicagoland area and rose through the ranks to oversee multiple distribution centers in the Midwest. He has handled the e-commerce growth explosion and the COVID-19 pandemic with skill and resilience. He delivered exceptional results for his organization. Ben holds a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University’s College of Business, where he was involved in various academic, social, and athletic activities, including an overseas work-study program, Greek life, and club lacrosse. Ben lives in Evanston with his wife, three children, and their dog, Jade.
