Executive Committee

The Executive Committee provides leadership and coordination for the Council’s activities, helping to set priorities and guide its work throughout the year. It also serves as the primary liaison with University leadership, ensuring communication between the Council and senior administration is clear, consistent, and productive.

Benefits Committee

The Benefits Committee serves as the Council’s advisory body on staff benefits. The Committee works with University benefits leadership to convey staff perspectives, suggestions, and concerns related to benefits policies and procedures, and to facilitate communication between staff and the University on benefits-related matters. The Committee also collaborates with the Faculty Senate Benefits Committee Chair to share and discuss benefits-related concerns of mutual interest. In addition, the Committee oversees the NU Cares program, with administrative support from Human Resources, as part of NUSAC’s commitment to staff wellbeing.

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee serves as the Council’s primary connection to the broader staff community. The Committee supports the dissemination of information about NUSAC’s initiatives, priorities, and activities, helping to keep staff informed about the Council’s work. It also promotes awareness of opportunities for staff engagement, with the goal of fostering transparency and strengthening understanding of NUSAC’s advisory role and contributions to the University.

Human Resources Committee

The Human Resources Committee serves as the Council’s liaison with Human Resources. The Committee provides a forum for the discussion of and feedback on staff-related policies, procedures, and initiatives, including areas such as compensation, hiring, and job growth. The Committee communicates staff perspectives and concerns to Human Resources and offers advisory input on matters of staff interest, consistent with NUSAC’s consultative role.

Outreach Committee

The Outreach Committee supports NUSAC’s mission by strengthening connections within the Northwestern staff community and between staff and University leadership. The Committee supports opportunities for engagement across campuses, schools, groups, and units, helping to bring staff together in meaningful ways. The Committee also encourages dialogue and information-sharing and promotes efforts that amplify staff voices and foster a sense of inclusion and community.
