PA Important Dates
Peer Advisers will be expected to attend all spring and fall training in addition to quarterly training during the 2019-2020 academic year. Please carefully review the list of commitments below before deciding to apply.
NSFP Student Leader Spring Retreat
The PAs will attend the NSFP Student Leader spring retreat on Saturday, April 6 from 8:30 AM- 6:30 PM.
Spring Peer Adviser Training & Leadership Course
PAs will be assigned to one section of the Peer Adviser Leadership and Training Course held every week during the spring quarter. The course will be led by a board member and timing is based on academic schedules.
The End of Spring All-Staff will be held Tuesday June 4 from 6:00-9:00 PM
Fall PA Camp
Fall PA Camp will be Thursday, September 12– Sunday, September 15
PAs will move in early in the daytime on Thursday, September 12 with PA camp starting in the late afternoon. During PA Camp, PAs should expect to participate in training starting at 9 AM and ending anytime between 9-10 PM.
* If you are a member of a fraternity/sorority planning to live in the house for the fall 2019, it is your responsibility to secure early move-in approval from your house as soon as possible. If you are not able to move in early, it is your responsibility to find alternate early move-in housing. NSFP will not be able to provide early housing for any PA not living in a residence hall or residential college.
Wildcat Welcome will be Monday, September 16 at 7 AM- Monday, September 23 at 9 PM.
PAs are expected to be on-campus and remain available in order to fulfill all responsibilities associated with Wildcat Welcome.
True Northwestern Dialogue Series
All Peer Advisers will be required to facilitate True Northwestern Dialogues (TNDs) each quarter of the 2019-2020 academic year. The schedule for these TNDs will be communicated during PA Camp.
There will be one in-person training each quarter of the 2019-2020 academic year led by 2019 Board Members to prepare for these TNDs. McCormick Peer Advisers will also instruct a First Year Experience seminar during the fall and winter quarters.
